...then we get the chance.

Ok so we have all these ideas and this infinite aspiration or need, as some would prefer, to come up on top in this ruin of a situation that we have in Zimbabwe...question, now, is can we make it play out right? As a System/Business Analyst, I am often faced with problems that are solved by means or following procedure or rather a laid out plan of action. We start by planning then analysing then designing then implementing then finally, but continually, qw support the system.I regard this move we are commiting to of bringing together ideas is probably th first step of identifying and making out the goals that we need to achieve in order to bring up as many successful and soon to be prominent figures in the business community in Zimbabwe and even in the world over. I believe God gave each person a gift that is very important and will play a very major role at a specific time and place...more like the peices of a jiggzle puzzle. So coming together on this platform will play a significant role in connecting people and fitting each piece of the puzzle in correctly and obviously at the best place. Eventually some of the player?contributors/members of this blog will meet and materialize the ideas that they have conceived and some might never meet or they will, instead, decide to remain annonymous to each other but interact from different parts of the world or even start an internet community of businesses but whatever the end structure that people will decide to form, the most important thing is that ideas are going to be shared and hopefully brought to reality. So you just never know maybe that "silly" idea of yours might just make you the next "most influential businessperson".

Most said and done, lets get this ball rolling. I am sure most of us have witnessed the mess that Zimbabwe is in and more have actually experienced it first hand. I have experienced it and must say it's a really sad outcome of the decisions that our leaders have made but alas, our true characteristics are exclaimed under imense pressure so shall we take o arms or let the intellectually capacity make headway? I would go with the later. I often spend my time with business minded people and those with ideas of coming out on top regardless the situation and some even using the situation to gain an advantage and try to move to the top and this just gives me even more enthusiasm to go out and try to assemble as many minds to pull the business community of Zimbabwe out of the quagmire that it has fallen into and each and everyone of you is going to play a part and finally make this puzzle make sense. So as we take up this newly assigned task of ours, I would like to wish everyone a merry christmas and and a happy 2009 and above all ,good health and the abundunt mercy and blessings of our heavenly Father. So, any ideas?

I could probably agree with the latter aswell... however, I would think there needs to be a lot more coordination with the people in Zimbabwe right now. What I mean is, even with the situation being bad, it will take a while with the kind of mass action taking place... a more aggressive, but peaceful sort of action could be the key, such as stay aways by heads of key businesses in the economy supposing they have the country at heart. At least if mass action increased...

Although I am for the peaceful approach, I would stand by my an offer I once made that if you gave me a gun, several rounds and a helicopter with a pilot, I could make a difference!!!

Very true, the current times we are living in and what is currently being done by the government is not sustainable - one way or the other they are not going to be there forever.

Firslty, I do agree with Zacharia Rage - Coordination first. Then we need to create jobs, 3/4 (if not more) of Zim is run by the government, and believe it or not wheather there is change or not - its MISSION managing a country. Stuff like garbage collection, water, etc should be privatised and that way bodies like City of Harare will only have to focus on coordinating these critical functions not doing it themselves! This will also ensure that gvt dont have access to all resources etc...

Zacharia and clickspeed, you guys are very right.Coordination is very key.If you look at the situation Zim is in right now you will obvously agree that there are so many loopholes or emergent factors that prevailed all because there was inadequate planning by the city fathers.I'm am impressed by how clickspeed went straight to the the very probably root causes of the infrastructure collapse. As the leaders of tomorrow we have to start planning out exactly what needs to be addressed and like you mentioned there will need to be some sort of privatization since we would all agree that the city councils have found it as mamoth tasks to deliver the most vital and basic services.I think as we mature as a community we are going to be able to make defining moves on these issues. Thanks for the positivity guys,it's good to know that we share a common goal in raising the country. Please keep the contributions coming and please spread the word so we can get as many people on this blog community as possible and I promise that as a people and power WE WILL RISE.

The gentlemen before me have spoken very wise words. However, isn't the plain simple fact that everyone knows what's wrong and how to correct it but hits a brick wall when it comes to authorisation to correct the ills of the nation? Everyone knows there's infrastructural damage, economic mismanagement and all that but there is no big enough mass to move the top off. That is were all efforts should go to.

Okay... so are we suggesting that the real problem, or immediate problem is simply removing the top?? What will then be the results? The top also have their roots and those roots if they still provide for the top, the top may be difficult to remove. Of course the roots may not survive after felling off the tree but think if they are infested with disease they will harm anything else that begins to grow in the soil. Sanctions are slowly killing the government but also affecting the civil society directly dependent on the government... a complex, but more effective way of dealing with the situation could actually be the rising of civil society mainly the army and the police who hold the government!!! After all, it is clear that there is no wealth to say they are in power, but just brute strength... kungotyisana varume!!!
